What are employer's obligations connected with an accident at work?

Pursuant to regulations of the Ordinance of the Council of Ministers from 28 July 1998 in regard to determine circumstances and causes of accidents at work and the way of documenting them (JL No 115, item 744 with amendments) the employer whose worker has had an accident, is obliged to:

» ensure provision of assistance and first aid to the injured worker
» secure the place of the accident
» examine circumstances and causes of the accident
» prepare appropriate documentation
» introduce and apply the means which will prevent similar accidents from happening

The fact of an accident itself taking place puts the employer in a difficult situation.
